Traditionally, Pounamu is seen as a powerful protector. Wearing a Pounamu breastplate is believed to shield the wearer from harm and bad energy. Warriors wore them into battle, believing the stone would bring them strength and safeguard their Mana (spiritual power).
Pounamu, especially a large breastplate, was traditionally worn by chiefs and people of high status, symbolizing their authority and leadership.

Pounamu is often associated with healing. It’s thought to bring balance and calm to the wearer, offering peace of mind and emotional stability. The stone is said to possess a natural vibration that aligns with the spirit, making it a powerful tool for both physical and spiritual healing.
